Sea Odyssey

I’ve just spent three days following giants around Liverpool as French street theatre company Royal De Luxe brought their Giant Spactacle to Liverpool. I shot this solid for twelve hours a day and have posted blogs up to Rivercool whilst a larger set of photographs are also online in my Archive which is linked above. I’ve also got a fwe more documentary style shoots coming up with my commissions for Southport Soul Weekender, Liverpool Sound City and Light Night all happening in May.

RLPO Billboard

This photograph’s a year old and was shot at a concert in January 2011 but it’s just been used for a billboard and I first saw it high up in Lime Street Station, Liverpool. With most classical concerts there’s virtually zero chance of taking concert photographs but, dressed in black, I sat low in the choir stalls for one short and largely loud piece of music and when the percussion section in front of hit their instruments loud, I took photos safe in the knowledge that any shutter noise would be drowned in sound.

Etihad

I shot this five shot campaign, for the Manchester City sponsor Etihad, in November 2011 for the Abu Dhabi office of TBWA. This photograph features the club’s manager Roberto Mancini whilst other shots, some of which are now online in the print section, included various players using the onboard facilities. The shoot, which saw the agency’s creative directors fly in from the UAE, was also filmed for Manchester City’s online TV station and the 26 strong production crew included a styling team sourced locally from Impact Models.

Anna Thai-Hogan

I’ve worked with Liverpool singer Anna Thai-Hogan before when I shot an acoustic session in the back yard at home one day for Routes Jukebox but this this was the first time we’d done any photographs together. Anna’s a singer songwriter and blues is her thing and, having just recorded a debut album, I think there’ll be a mention or two of her on here and/or the Routes site in 2012.
